Now, give your answer (speaking out loud) using the vocabulary provided if needed. Then, listen to the possible answer provided.

Differences:
            Injured footballer ≠ lost tourist.
A doctor is checking his ankle ≠ a policeman is giving directions.
Urgent help (painful) ≠ help (not urgent).

How important is it to help in these situations?
1st photo: football player in pain/training for an important match.
2nd photo: tourists might feel anxious when lost/the policeman could help her to have a better experience in his country.

Useful vocabulary
Sprained ankle.
(Muscle) Cramps.
Sudden muscle contraction.
Swollen ankle.

Transcript

In the first picture, there’s a footballer who might have injured himself while training. He’s probably got a sprained ankle. There’s also a woman with him who must be the team’s doctor, and she’s checking his ankle.

Whereas in the second photo, there’s an Asian lady who might be a tourist asking a police officer for directions because she’s probably looking for a city landmark or a specific location.

I think it’s important to help in both situations because, for example, in the first photo the guy must be feeling in pain if he’s injured, and a doctor can help.
And in a situation like in the second picture, if you get lost in a big city you might feel anxious, especially if you don’t speak the local language, so a police officer is a good option for asking for help.

Well, it depends on the situation, but in general I don’t find it difficult. I suppose it’s because I don’t mind helping others when needed. First, I try to solve the problem myself, but if I see it too complicated, I’ll ask for help for sure. Sometimes we need a hand to solve a problem, and it’s okay.

CANDITATE B:

Now, give your answer (speaking out loud) using the vocabulary provided if needed. Then, listen to the possible answer provided.

Differences:
            Private garden ≠ public garden.
            Vegetables ≠ grass and trees/bushes.
            Gardening ≠ picnic.

What are the people enjoying about spending time in these gardens?
1st photo: solitude/gardening/rewarding of growing his own vegetables.
2nd photo: a (family) day out/picnic/weather.

Useful vocabulary
Allotment = small area of land in a town which a person rents to grow plants and vegetables on.

Transcript

In the top photo, I can see a man who is gardening. This might be his allotment, and he’s just growing some vegetables.

Whereas, in the bottom photo, there are different groups of people who might be in a public garden. This might be different groups of families or friends who are enjoying a day out.

The man in the top photo might like gardening and growing his own vegetables, because he might find it rewarding. Or he might also like the solitude and silence around him.

However, the people in the second photo might be enjoying a picnic with friends or family, and the nice sunny weather. Also, the view over the mansion is very nice to enjoy.

Now, give your answer (speaking out loud) using the vocabulary provided if needed. Then, listen to the possible answer provided.

Transcript

I think I prefer to spend time in a public garden with my friends, having a picnic and spending some time with them. I’m quite bad at looking after plants, and I don’t really like gardening anyway, and I also suppose that having an allotment can be quite expensive. So, if I had to choose one of those two, I’d choose the garden in the second picture.
